Earned her nursing assistant license at 17, then spent four years caring for nursing home residents.
Worked her way through college and law school, then started at a prosecutor's office as an intern.
Raised in Port Orchard as one of six kids, Coreen started working at 15. Today she and her husband Mike, a law enforcement officer, are raising their four children in Tacoma.

Leads 180 attorneys and staff across the criminal division.
Supervisor, Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking Unit, Pierce County
Led a team of attorneys and staff while carrying her own caseload of domestic violence, human trafficking, and homicide cases.
Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, Kitsap County
Supervised the unit handling murder, drug, gang, and human trafficking cases. Took more than 50 cases to trial in Kitsap County.
Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, Kitsap County
Prosecuted felony drug cases, then rape, child abuse, and domestic violence cases in the Special Assault Unit.
